I have a deep rocking purple salvia in a three gallon nursery pot and it is growing a pretty good size in the pot.

Very pretty, Eric. Your garden will be quite popular with the hummingbirds.

Eric,

Is your pic of salvia 'Black and Blue' or salvia Black and Bloom (aka salvia Nectar Blue™)?

Oops, sorry about that. D'Oh!

On second look, I see purple flowers blooming. I didn't plant that one this year, but I might next year.

Here's the database link if you'd like to submit your pic.

Just read the profile. It says it's sterile. That is disappointing. Do these grow from cuttings?

Eric,

I don't know. It's a patented plant (USPP 30,206), so maybe for your own personal use (and not to sell any) you could make cuttings.

Salvia microphylla 'Royal Bumble' is putting on a nice show. Here are photos of a couple pairs of flowers.

Just purchased a rockin salvia fuschia. The tag said can only handle down to 32 degrees so I'll have to bring it in on freezing days. Will on e night of cool temps kill a salvia?

Eric,

From the database (regarding Salvia Rockin'® Fuchsia),

Minimum cold hardiness: Zone 9b -3.9 °C (25 °F) to -1.1 °C (30 °F)

This is a Proven Winners plant and they list it as zone 9b for minimum cold hardiness zone.

https://www.provenwinners.com/...

Since you're zone 9a, your minimum cold hardiness is 20 - 25 degrees, so keep that in mind. I'd bring the plant inside, if you don't want to lose it.

Typically, around here the weather skirts around 30 and 40 for about 12 days. Every once in awhile we have an around 27 day. Any idea why rock in blue and purple would be zone 9a but the fuschia one says 9b?You would think they would be the same.
