Here is a volunteer Salvia, which turned out to be what I think is guaranitica. I like the flower color very much.

Joseph, it does look like a guaranitica. I love the color. I have an older one called black and blue; it's not doing well at all, just can't take the heat here. I will replace it with a newer variety next year. My Amante, purchased this year, is also a guaranitica, is beginning to bloom and seems to be more acclimated to the heat and humidity. Here's the black and blue from last year.

I think Amistad is a guaranitica cultivar, hence the similarity.

Right now my big blue salvia seedlings are only about 3/4 of an inch. I used miracle gro. Dont know why these grow so slow.
