A cross of P. lactiflora x P. macrophylla, A dead giveaway in identifying features of this peony are the leaves, they are somewhat round. I have no other peonies with this type of foliage."

On opening, the flowers have a pinkish hue (apricot) and fade to a clear yellow. Petals occasionally display dark pink streaks.The flowers hold up well in the rain and may sing."

Bred by Irene Tolomeo from Sonoma, CA. A cross of Lacti seedling x tree hybrid Golden Era. She has 12 peonies (most are Itoh hybrids) registered with the APS. Most have 'Sonoma' in the name.

Discovered by Dutchman Luc Klinkhamer during a trip to South Korea in 1987 at an orchard near the North Korean border. The flowers have several levels of color and resembles a Sorbet. No buds in 2015. Planted in 2014."

American Peony Society Gold Medal Selection for 2013 and Peony of the Year for 2014. Looks very red to me, not orange red. Entry in Burkhardt's peony database is mis-spelled. I assume that the peony is named after the famous Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, MI."
