Thread OP

I have several Lilies in a pot that are doing well, except that some leaves on a few of them are suffering from something. The affected part starts in the centre of each leaf, but I'm baffled as to the cause.

Mike - It's not virused, but due to environmental factors like botrytis that may have been caused by overwatering, possibly coupled with some damage from frost or wind. I think you may just have to give it some TLC to get it through the next few weeks. Infrequent watering with liquid fertilizer may help the bulb, even if the leaves may be past recovery. Hope this helps.

Thread OP

Steve. Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought of botrytis. But the weather, although not frosty, has been rather wet lately. Apart from Lily Beetles, last year the Lilies all did well with hardly any slug damage. But this year has been terrible for slugs, Lilies had their tops eaten off as soon as they emerged from the ground, while some have grown up with distorted leaves from an unknown source. The beetles are back again - ten from one plant alone. Are they coming out of the soil in the garden, or flying in from outside - it's a mystery. Confused
