Steve. Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought of botrytis. But the weather, although not frosty, has been rather wet lately. Apart from Lily Beetles, last year the Lilies all did well with hardly any slug damage. But this year has been terrible for slugs, Lilies had their tops eaten off as soon as they emerged from the ground, while some have grown up with distorted leaves from an unknown source. The beetles are back again - ten from one plant alone. Are they coming out of the soil in the garden, or flying in from outside - it's a mystery.
