That doesn't hurt them? Will they still put on new leaves and then bloom?
I am amazed at how fast this one type is growing. I swear I can sit and watch it growing. In half an hour it grew about 2 inches!

Without photos I can't offer accurate information for your situation; however, it's what I have done every year for over a decade.

Thanks, I can see how snipping the tip would lead to bushier vines. I'm having so much fun watching these plants grow! I fed them with some half strength Miracle Gro's Quick Start. It's been wonderful on some of my other plants, so I thought I'd give it a try.

The stores around here used to sell streptocorpus in the springtime. One year I bought one; it did very well outside until I brought it in for the winter, back then I wasn't so good with plants inside, except for philos. I'm sure I didn't spell the name right, but y'all know what I mean! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Karen I'ved snipped the vines that were getting too long and have also redirected them back down to grow up again without any adverse effects on the flowers. I have to redirect the ones I grow in pots all the time in the summer since I have them along a fence with other plants I don't want them tangled on.

I don't have any growing inside this year but used the same lighting that Joseph has and also just regular fluorescent shop lights.

My AVs are under an LED light I got from Amazon...I've never had this many blooms on an AV in all my growing years. I really like the lights. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FZTKYXV/

It doesn't hurt them. I'm fact if you pinch the tops they just get wider instead of having one single vine going up. I do it every year when mine get too tall. Or I've trained it back downward.

Happy New Year! I've been pretty busy these past weeks but had to search for the new thread. My growing seeds indoors has been a big failure thanks to the cats. Only the sweet potato vine is happy and climbing all over my window. My cats keep eating my pink moonflower. Grr!

I've been keeping busy collecting seeds for this year. I'm intent on creating a cottage garden in my large bed. I lined the back with giant lily bulbs.

That light setup is great! I'm pretty sure the pink light would not make my wife happy.

That light setup looks pretty cool. Do they have a color cast or do they emit white light? I've always had problems taking pictures of plants under grow lights.

I've some of those thin green bamboo stakes, meant just for them to climb indoors, during winter.
Though they often quickly get attached to Vanda orchid hanging basket wires, before I barely know it !

It is getting difficult for me to remove & hang these baskets again, for proper watering.
(My back isn't going to get any better.)

If I would do it nearly properly, I'd trim the JMG vines, after the lower leaves are about fully grown to size, & quickly " pinch" (cleanly) above the sixth, or seventh leaf.

Ronnie, I've seen someone else on another thread recommend these very same lights, I like them! Y'all are thinking they are pink, I think y'all are seeing that three armed little plant stand to the right side of the page with the lights.

Well, I sure didn't read that! From what I've seen on numerous threads about pink/purple/red lights is don't buy them. Many experienced gardeners say they aren't full spectrum.

I have a Mars Hydro grow light setup. It was pricey, but works really well. It has a combo of the pink light, and white lights. I've been very impressed by how well it works.
