Thank you for the beautiful Banner, Jean. It made me look up a photo I took in the Kula Botanical Garden in Maui in 2015. It was identified as the Fairy or Butterfly Iris (Dietes grandiflora).
I've just entered it into the Database, and was impressed by the first comment below the entries, showing photos of Dietes grandiflora and Dietes iridioides, side by side, showing the difference between them. It is the brown markings on the inner tepals of the Dietes grandiflora, that distinguishes it.
