Here in the Intermountain West it's like the way the chart describes the East Coast.

Where I am, if there is 1 flake of snow, school is cancelled & the roads are declared closed. There's all-out pandemonium @ the grocery any time the possibility is even mentioned. We start seeing down jackets, gloves, & Elmer Fudd hats @ 50°. ...and Canadians water-skiing!

Here it's actually worse than the graff suggests. One flake sticks and everything goes on total lockdown and Grocery stores are emptied to feed all the kids home from school. In all fairness though it's our best course of action. Why blow the county budget on snow equipment when it snows once or twice a year and it melts in a day?

Cheryl, that is so very true for us in upstate NY, my mailman still wears shorts in January We had 8+ inches Thursday and in my town there was only 1 minor fender bender, unlike the disaster on the George Washington Bridge
