It's not usually muggy, but we get a lot of rain so I suppose our humidity is high. Good idea on the houseplant, I've been wanting to add to my small collection, maybe I'd have better luck inside.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

I have heavy clay soil and grow it in a raised bed to avoid rot in spring. Since your rosemary die in spring, I think sharp drainage might do the trick for you too.
Of course I talk to myself; sometimes I need expert advice!

It would be worth a try, either (or both) way(s).

If you grow it inside, give it as much light as possible, and water it like you would a cactus. Thoroughly, but infrequently. I hardly ever water mine once they are established. Maybe once or twice during the hottest part of summer. I put it on a slow soak so the ground gets saturated.

Let us know which method is more successful. You could also grow them in pots outside...
