It's fun to share them, but yes it's difficult for me to catch them in camera, for now just common butterfly, perhaps later or after I get used to take more picture, will be able to catch the rarer one, as they are usually faster flyer, and difficult to be approached.

The newspaper in San Antonio had an article about a butterfly exhibit at the lock rodeo. Great info and pics! But...the very large pic at the beginning of the article was ID'd as a Monarch (it is a Painted Lady). And a much smaller pic ID'd as a Monarch (also a Painted Lady). The smallest pic was correctly ID'd as a Monarch. Oh well! Rolling my eyes. I notice most of the ID's were corrected online:

I feel like a world traveler a little bit. I learn a little about Australia and Texas and Indonesia. How priceless is that. Thank you for all the pictures, @tofitropic.

I think dragonflies are such mysterious looking creatures, I can't get the image of one wolfing down a huge bumble bee out of my head. I never was afraid of them. I might be now! Fierce.

Margaret suggested I post these photos here. This is the first time I have grown Butterfly Weed. This variety is Silky Deep Red. Planted it several month ago in a pot and it has done wonderfully here. The hummingbirds and butterflies love it. Just recently I have noticed caterpillars munching on the leaves. Margaret identified them as Swallowtails. Just delighted with this plant !

More butterflies are starting to appear. Don't know if they're early arrivals or if they over-wintered here. Just happy to have them.

Juniper hairstreak, Sulphur, and Pipevines were out and about today.
