They're baaaack!!!!
Sunshine and 78 degrees is great inspiration to blow the dust off of the camera. The fact that the bees and butterflies were out too was an added bonus. Winter Honeysuckle (Lonicera fragrantissima) is one of the non-natives I heartily endorse. It's the first thing to bloom and is a fabulous nectar source. The pipevine swallowtails were certainly enjoying it today!
The bees were very active too.
And a Variegated Fritillary showed up.
I spotted a Red Admiral, but it was camera shy so I wasn't able to get a photo. Now that spring is on the way, there will be plenty of opportunities.
