I have four tropical pots that were on the patio. The afternoon sun was spotting them with burn marks. I moved them onto the big patio under the oaks. They seem to be happier there.

I am in awe of your beautiful containers. How do you handle the watering? I was looking for drip irrigation hoses but didn't see any in the photos.

Thanks. I just use a hose and nozzle. I've tried all kinds of drip irrigation, soaker hoses, etc. I think I just like the idea of getting out in the garden, and watering is a good excuse. I get up really early now that I could sleep in if I wanted to. It's a little annoying. I'm usually up before the sun. I get out and water pots while it's cool. Here's the sun up and peeking over the fence.

Thanks, Karen, but there are parts that are muddy from the neighbors' flooding our backyard. I don't show those, or at least I try not to.

Isn't there any way to resolve that problem legally? No one should be allowed to let that happen.

Nooooo, that would make a mess. Hilarious!

Watering by hand is so relaxing and you can really see your plants up close. I like to do that but I use drip, which I carefully adjust to each pot, because I do not trust others to water the same way I do. If I want to go and visit my kids I can go off and not worry about the plants in containers while I am away.

@plantladylin Love the ferns growing on the trees! The squirrels and raccoons would have a field day with those here.
@EscondidoCal I water early morning and hit the pots again at dusk. Most things are pouting now that our temps are over 100.
@Christine I can kill more than one plant! Whistling
