Yipes, is Mid-America already sold out of some varieties? I had better put in an order fast.
I wanted Destiny's Kiss last year but didn't order it soon enough.

Phooey - I just looked at their website and Absolute Truth is already sold out. It was at the top of my wish list.

Well, in all honesty, there's a real chance that I'll be able to ignore the Mid-America sale this fall. Also I stand a good chance at not bringing home too many irises from our club's sale either, so there. Angel Angel

I was going to place an order with Schreiners this spring, but have decided to simply enjoy the ones I already have. I just had a pulmonary function test, and my lung diffusion capacity is down to 72% of expected for my height. No wonder a few minutes of exertion leaves me panting like a dog. And next month I am scheduled for an echocardiogram to check on the status of my heart dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension. And then shortly after that, I get to see my scleroderma specialist at Hopkins. I've been remiss. I am supposed to have all this done and see her every couple years, but it has been 8 years.

I guess I have an "order" coming...that's already in my possession!

I stopped by a local nursery in Tennessee called Johnson's Nursery today and purchased three new irises for my garden!

TB Oui Madame
TB Savannah Sunset
TB That's All Folks (I had this, may have been lost)

I also got a siberian iris.

Grats on the newbies Monty! Hurray!

Did I order any irises this year...hmmm...maaaaybe? I'm sure it was very modest! Whistling

I have a list...somewhere...

And here we are!
Most are some that I lost and wanted to give another go. Others are 'insurance' rhizomes for irises that I already have and do not want to lose. But I found a few new ones as well.
Philip W. Remare 2013. I'm not familiar with his work, but I'll give it a try!

I have these two already, probably in the blue bed out back, which has suffered some setbacks, so just in case...

Have it and love it. It's not in great shape, so...

Vintage Paul Black. What's not to like?

https://wiki.irises.org/Mtb/Mt...
Also new to me. Most Tasquier irises grow well here and I think the MTBs are a really interesting group.

An iconic Tasquier iris and the closest to a black iris that I have. One simply cannot have too many!

New to me. Have been on my wish list for a while.

Have tried Blackbeard's Ghost a few times, but it keeps giving up the YKW, so now I'll see if this one does any better.

New. How could anyone not order that??!! I'm sure mine will look just like this in a year or two. Hilarious!

A must have Keppel iris IMHO.

Historic Sterling Innerst iris. I've had this in my basket numerous times over the years, but somehow it never made the final cut. It has been around for quite a while, so I'm taking that as a recommendation.

A classic 'black' iris. I have it and I intend to keep it that way. Crossing Fingers!

Got this back in 2017, because I liked the name. Turned out I really liked the iris too and then it died on me.

It is a Ghio, it's gawjus and Brad recommended it. 'Nuff said!

According to my plant list, I have this one. Haven't seen it in ages, so time to bring in reinforcements!

Have it, it did well in a pot for a long time. Planted it out in a really nice spot and it did less well. Go figure...

That's all Folks! (Wonder if I still have that one..hmm...)

My Ladies' Manor is an exceptional grower and performer here.
Grapenut has not grown very well here. Just hangs on.

I can't speak for the rest, except Before the Storm, grew well here, but I traded it away, thought I kept some but I guess I didn't. I've done that with a few. Rolling my eyes.

Lilli:
Philip W. Remare was Keith Keppel's partner. He passed a few years ago. He didn't introduce many iris but those he did seem to all be pretty good growers.

I think his IB Dalriada is a beautiful orange. His IB Violet Moon blooms well too.

Sorry to hear that Grapenut is not doing well for people. Mine was a workhorse. Lost it to flooding rain.

My Lady's Manor is one of my all-time favorite irises. It increases well, has nice branching, and blooms every year without fail. Its gorgeous flower is heavy substance and the blooms open over a period of five days. Here it is in a third year clump:

My order for 10 of these "Sea Power" incredibly well-ruffled babies from Schreiner's has been in for quite awhile now. https://www.schreinersgardens....

I'll get two of these "Stairway to Heaven" with my orders (two orders of 5): https://www.schreinersgardens....

I absolutely love Stairway to Heaven. It's not that its individual blooms are so remarkable, but the way it stages its blooms, IS.
