About the closest I can even figure, is similarly looking flower, to cv. 'Lion King'. While I'm not even so certain about that, being correct.

Hopefully, the others won't get their edges nearly so "sun baked" as this ! (Unfortunately.) While it already looks as though a darker blue might be up next, to open up a bloom.

I just cant even barely imagine, how this image came out, in such very bright sunshine. No less...
While no idea, of any name cv. for it, either. (If there is even one for this J.I.)

Can't compete with the clumps you are getting up in Michigan, but Ginger Twist was my first sib to bloom this year. Here was my best shot.

I wasn't so certain, if these ones are perhaps, 'Sei (Or, Shei?) Shonagon' if not very similar.
As they do appear somewhat more like the species ensata. Though may have been hybridized, around some 30 (plus,) years ago.
Day old bloom, which has a rather nice sheen, to it. (Creates a bit of difficulty, with getting an exact color, representation in the image of it.)

A couple that just opened up, today.
Just slightly shorter, & one shows those yellow "flags" a bit better.

Apologies for the poor focus, as I'm a bit tired already, today.

Here's a better image, more in focus.
Just suddenly clouded up, & that also helped to get a better one, towards mid-day.

Frank, your Siberian clumps are amazing. Mine are getting up to size and hopefully will make fine clumps next year. Except for Jaybird. This is its fourth year and it puts on quite a show. I'm waiting now for a couple of Japanese irises that I have to bloom.

That's a wonderful clump, tientino !
I'd had nice sized clumps of 'Caesar's Brother' previously, & had three of them as they'd grown fairly quickly for me, at one point in time. When I'd grown them, before.

Though I'd thought were a bit difficult, to ever dig up any, except for once in a trade, (way up by near Wisconsin I do believe, oh so many years ago !) Could barely get that shovel into them, very far below the soil level, as I rcall...

Thanks, Frank. Would that also work very well, for cutting a "tree" Peony, (suffruticosa) on its' own roots, too ?

I'll have to ask the old "mastemind" of tools, in the household. The other, is "into" electronics, while of course I'm into "waiting" for more Japanese Iris, to open up, & so many other kinds of plants, too !
Perhaps, maybe tomorrow itll be a nice surprise, of J.I. bloom(s)...

I only got interested in Siberian and Japanese irises in the last couple of years, so don't have too many, but they are a joy in the garden.

Siberian Iris 'How Audacious' bloomed for me the third week of May. I just got it last year, so I guess it hasn't reached its full height of 34 inches yet. The foliage does seem to be more gray-greenish

Siberian Iris 'Concord Crush'. My pictures just don't do it justice. I didn't get a close up picture of it this year.

I purchased this Japanese Iris with the tag 'Lady in Waiting', but it is definitely not that. After asking on this site and comparisons, I believe it to be 'Ocean Mist'. However, I have refrained from adding pictures to the database because of the uncertainty. I just love it though.

Siberian Iris 'Caesar's Brother' - I think I got this from a big box store years ago. Divided it in 2020 and put several rhizomes at the edge the patio. Very pleased with how quickly it has multiplied.
