I think on some variegates, the flowers are variegated too. My guess is that if the flower bud or the branch the flower bud is on are variegated, the flowers should be variegated... Thinking

No not necessarily.
Variegated flowers + variegated foilage is just something a hybridizer has made on purpose or by mistake.

I am pretty sure they would be different genes and such.... Either a coincidence that they both are variegated OR it's selected seedlings etc.

One exception being Camellia leaf yellow mottle virus, which gives both flowers and leaves a white bleached-spotty look.

Hmm. Yeah, a lot of weird viruses. On Aeonium Sunburst, flowers can be variegated.

Strong rain and wind early this morning and got my adenium pots wet! There is no way to shield them from rain even in a covered porch. And cool forecast on the on the next few days.
Here are yesterday's blooms:

With so many flowers, maybe it's time to start hybridizing? (hint, hint, hint). I would love to see the dark purple crossed with the pink and white.

I tried Smiling but it didn't work. There are so many possibilities of combinations. I think I will buy plants that are attractive to pollinators (we have a lot of bumble bees) so they can cross pollinate them.

Hmm. If you fail, you must try again! How did you try to pollinate the flowers?

There is an instruction here somewhere in the forum how to hybridize shared by @wildbloomers who has been successful hybridizing. His method is I think the most accurate. I have to buy a magnifying dental loupe and will try again in spring.

I would love to but the back porch is open air and the wind gets really strong. Everything needs to be set lower so the wind will not knock them down. Also, I read that keeping the pots on the pavement allows the bottom to stay warm even when it gets cold at night.

And we will be in the 40s tomorrow morning. Brrrr!

It is true, I do it for a reverse reason, I grow a lot of plants on the balcony to reduce the heat of my bedroom below the balcony

I would bring them in at night. For the simple reason that weather prediction is inaccurate. They said it would only go down to 40 degrees. YET, it goes down to 32. Frost damage... Rolling my eyes.

No indoor storage. Hubby is not a plant person. Garage has cars, plants not allowed.

Glad I don't have to do that! Rolling on the floor laughing We only get a few hours of cold and then it warms up. Now they are enjoying direct sun.
