@gigiplumeria planning to cover as many plants with blankets tomorrow as I can. All adeniums in the house - Big Red has one seed pod. Hope it makes it through…. Took down a couple of phalenopsis that I had just put on a tree, luckily the roots didn't get a chance to attach to the tree trunk, has multiple flower stalks. Too many freeze sensitive plants in the ground thigh….. We'll have to meet - didn't realize you are in the Tampa area!!!!

The outside temp is 31 degrees now through 7 am the inside tent temp is 37 degrees. I am hoping inside the blanket covers are warmer. 🥶 🥶 🥶

My desert rose's bloom looks more like azalea's bloom.

I picked up a new plant with interesting blooms: 3 flowers were on it, but only one half-opened. Now 10 days later first new bud opened right on Christmas Day!
And i think i have 2 beginnings of seedpods , prolly pollinated in the nursery. Tiny-tiny ..
We had 3 nights 44-47F in Miami, so i brought all my plants in from balcony.

Glad I brought Red Eagle inside, it continued to bloom indoors:


And even the bloom that I accidentally knocked is still blooming:

I did see the adeniums from your Bangkok trip! Would love to see them here too! I was drooling 🤤 looking at all those beautiful adeniums!

Hahaha.. Yeah that market in Bangkok is really a paradise for plant lovers, worth a visit.. I can spend 2 days full-time there, We were at a panic buying mode, forgot to take much photo.
Didn't see much Adenium sellers there, A lot of sellers had their plants sold out and gone back already..
I'll share some of the non cactus photos here, cactus photos were shared in the cactus and succulent chat thread.
There are some sellers that want to visit but can not find them anywhere in the market.

Sorry that I didn't take much adenium photos like I did for cactus, my next trip is to Taiwan, which is also very famous for their multi-petalled adeniums, will try to take some photos there, if the plant market carry them in winter. The sellers in Taiwan also do not like people taking photos of their products, you will see a lot of "no photography" sign in their store, lets see how it goes.

Beautiful eye candy all I can say is I don't have a lot of these adeniums and other plants. I'm just curious why we do not have a street market like that here. Especially Florida Texas, Arizona and California that could easily grow these. And places that are tourist destination.

We probably can't sell it that cheap as Bangkok or Taiwan. We used to have a street fair in downtown Tampa and I can't recall why they stopped it. When we had it my office was like a "nursery" full of blooming plants (mostly orchids). At one time I had 50 phals but they all perished.

Possibly the labor cost is cheaper here, they are maximizing the 'unused space', they don't mind setting up the tents, moving all those plants just for 1 to 2 days selling, I can see a lot of them just sleep there at night. This market in Bangkok is a weekend market, so they use the road in front of the market from Tuesday to Thursday for selling plants.

The one in Taipei Taiwan even at a shorter time frame, it is under a bridge / high way, on the weekdays that place is a parking lot for the office buildings nearby, at weekends there become a plant market and jade market, one of my favorite place to visit for the last 30 years, always go to this weekend flower market if I visited Taipei and have weekends, never missed.
