Dormant Daylily
Has not done worth a darn here; never has bloomed. The plant I have has been consistently small and weak.
Presently in recovery at 145.4.5 [2023], not having a lot of hope
this plant has made me leery of trying more Paul Owen daylilies

from hybridizer site:
MONOCACY SUMMER MIST
Reed, 2006 - 42" EM 7" dor.dip. UF/cascade Soft cream yellow, dusted rose huge eye
This distinctive bloom is a soft cream yellow, mostly obscured by the large pattern of stippled rose eye, outlining a very intense green throat. The form is a ruffled, gentle cascade. This seedling, out of Lola Branham, spent a couple of summers near the Monocacy River in Maryland with a friend, while I moved to Virginia. Couldn't be left behind forever! Very different. Fertile both ways. Parent of ALICE IN LONDONLAND (2015).

from archive.org: trimmerdaylily.com 2016
(Dan Trimmer, 1996). Tetraploid (Tetra Siloam Gum Drop X Tetra Wings of Chance) Garden visitors have been asking for Jack since its maiden bloom. I consider Monterrey Jack to be an extremely important color break in the tetraploid breeding of daylilies. We have so many wonderful purple and plum eyes and edges, but so few red eyes and edges. I know of no other large tet. flower with big, well defined, red eyes on clear yellow petals. Usually, color breaks come coupled with less than desired forms in the hybridizing world of daylilies. This is not at all the case with "Jack." Early in the morning he is flat opened, and throughout the day remains unchanged in color and crispness. First blooms exceed 6" with the last being over 5". Flowers are round and very circular with large ruffles that are edged with a wire of red surrounding about 1/2 of the petal. Sepals are blunt and rounded. Jack is the parent of red eyed, red picoteed, yellow and cream flowers of large size and beautiful form. When I moved to Florida from Long Island I was afraid that due to Jack's northern bloodlines he would not perform, so half came down during last summer, and the 2nd half after much northern chilling. Both grew well, but more chilling increased bloom size. Jack is early, dormant, about 24" tall, well branched with the usual branching consisting of two or three laterals and a terminal Y. Jack is a very good grower and increaser with dark green low arched foliage. If you want either a beautiful eye catching garden subject, or a hybridizing entry into red eyes and red edges I highly recommend MONTERREY JACK. Jack is probably my most important introduction to date. Many of his offspring are almost white with red eyes.

Great bloomer, with 1 branch plus terminal Y and a bud count starting at around 12 and bud building to near 30. 2015 bloom period was a bit longer than 2 months. Fertile both ways. Very Good rust resistance. Northern Hardy.
Navajo Pony is has 8.5 inch fleshy pink flower with a very green throat. The eye zone has various shades of maroon and purple. Looks like the fancy Navajo pony blankets. Flower form is UFO cascade. This photo dose not do justice to the flower. Everyone who saw her this last season commented about Navajo Pony and wanted to know when I was going to introduce her. If you are hybridizing for dormant patterns, do not miss out on this one. A great flower to cross with other patterned daylilies.

TET 35"M Dor emo 8 ½ " 3-way branching 18 buds
Extra Large Bloom
Truly one of my best daylilies for color, a color break in pink hybridizing. The huge neon pink flowers are 8 ½" with a light pink watermark and green throat. My most used parent for hybridizing clear pinks, neon pinks, roses and rose reds of the spider and UFO types. Brightest pink I have seen to date. Super show & garden plant. Very fertile pollen, difficult pods.

from hybridizer website:
OLFACTORY EVIDENCE
Murphy, '07 - 38" Vla 6" dor.dip. Very Fragrant, creped lemon with cream edge, sunfast. Another in my series of very lates. This one will bloom in most gardens in September when few daylilies will. Opens well in cold weather.
OLFACTORY EVIDENCE may not be the best name, but it aptly describes this flower. This very late lemon flower has a creped texture and a cream edge on hot days. There are very few daylilies that bloom this late, and the lemon color and crisp scent really attract people. Completely sunfast, with two branches, and 20 buds, and extended bloom. Fertile both ways with fragrant kids.

ORCHID ELEGANCE
TET - #T-20-321 – (26"-MRe-5.5"-Dor) – TET LAVENDER BLUE BABY X MRS. JOHN COOPER – This one must be seen to get the impact of its color. The orchid pink gives a startling, new and different combination as it is contrasted with the lovely lavender blue eye and edge. A truly unique and different display of colors is offered in this lovely dormant cultivar. Scapes are strong and erect with four way branching and 26 buds. ORCHID ELEGANCE will bring an accent of distinction and beauty to any garden. This one is different and highly recommended.

Next to PIKES PEAK this was "that unusual daylily" everyone wooed over. PICTOEE PRISM is not as tall as our other prisms, but she makes up for it with the strong plum picotte edge not seen on any of the other prisms. Being a dormant I suspect scape height will be much higher in the north. Fertile both ways.

Tetraploid 33" Midseason Dormant emo fr 10" 4 way branching 18-22 buds. Fertile both ways. Rebloomer.
Very good rust resistance. Northern Hardy.
Pretty Desirable has huge pink flowers with a green throat. It is a smooth clean pink. Above photo was evening shot, a little to much mauve in it, it is pinker. Incorporates Love Goddess and Tetra Dallas Star genes which are very rare for such a large flower. A great Garden flower and hybridizing flower.

PURPLE SATELLITE
Mahieu Diploid 96-164 W
[(TRAHLYTA x ASTERISK )X BELLADONNA STARFISH]
33 M 11.5 NOC EXT lt FR 4 way branching 18 buds

Spatulate Unusual Form with pinching and twisting action in the segments. Flower form is flat as a dinner plate and as large as one! A gorgeous violet with a purple blue band on the petals and a ruffled cream picotee on all segments! This diamond dusted bloom has a chartreuse throat and the petals display a micro-ruffled near bubbly texture -- this trait is prevalent in PURPLE SATELLITE's children. We are getting many gorgeous CLEAR purples from Purple Satellite. PS was absolutely the best parent for purple-blue spiders and UFs in the '01 seedling crop! BELLADONNA STARFISH (a full pod-sibling to TRIUNE BEING) has been a wonderful parent, and many of her children display this knobby edging and lighter picotee -- very uncommon in the Unusual Forms class. Very fertile pollen, reluctant pod parent, but I did not know it was nocturnal when I was testing it. Hit it at dusk, and you may ,well, get pods. Very vigorous grower/clumper though fans are not large.

If you want to breed purple spider/UFs with purple blue eyes this is your parent, I can not stress this enough..
