Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Work with Me Annie') |
Have Dormant Daylily Unusual Form / Spider Daylily |
Received Oct 2022 from @Robinseeds & potted up planted area 12.9.18 fall 2022 Not registered as UF but looks like it to me Work with Me Annie (Bachman, 2004) height 48 inches (122 cm), bloom 6.25 inches (16 cm), season M, Dormant, Diploid, 18 buds, 4 branches, Violet purple with thin white midribs above chartreuse throat. (Stack the Deck × Big Ross) from archive.org wayback machine The Valley Of The Daylilies 2006 introduction WORK WITH ME ANNIE (Bachman 04) 48" 6.25" M DOR Diploid. All Hank Ballard wanted from Annie was a little help in this R&B classic for King Records, recorded right here in Cincinnati. This violet purple with thin white midribs and chartreuse throat is fertile both ways. WORK WITH ME ANNIE'S petals seem to float in front of the sepals giving it a 3-D appearance. A little fatter than my usual fare. Full sib to HOWLIN' WOLF. Four way branching with 18 buds. (STACK THE DECK X BIG ROSS) |

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Zelazny') |
Have Dormant Daylily Unusual Form / Spider Daylily |
from Vicki G @blue23rose 12 Apr 2024 potted 13 Apr 2024 until Autumn 2024 Zelazny (Michaels, 2004) height 36 inches (91 cm), bloom 7 inches (18 cm), season M, Dormant, Diploid, 23 buds, 3 branches, Purple bitone with cream midribs above large chartreuse to lime throat. (Miss Jessie × Lady Fingers) rom archive.org: http://daredevildaylily.com/Ze... Feb 2009 ZELAZNY (2004) 36" M DOR EMO 7" Purple bitone spider with cream midribs over large chartreuse to lime throat, 2 laterals and 23 buds. A vigorous increaser with deep green leaves that makes small fans. The closest to purple I've seen in the seedling patch so far, it is pod and pollen fertile and I've used it a lot to increase scape strength and improve foliage color. Most of its kids so far have been bitones. Named in memory of Roger Zelazny, author of THIS IMMORTAL, LORD OF LIGHT, ROADMARKS (my favorite), the Amber series, and dozens of other novels, as well as numerous award winning short stories. I've been told that the name translates as "iron." Spider ratio averages 4.3:1. (MISS JESSIE X LADY FINGERS). |
