All of Tracy's seedlings look great. Such a variety of colors, and interesting texture with crisp edges. Good to see pics of the herbaceous too. I like all of Gary's, but Red Satin never did well for me, staying rather stunted.
The peony season has not fulfilled earlier expectations, with excessive heat and now too much rain. A lot of herbaceous are less floriferous this year. There certainly have been enough vagaries in the weather to warrant sulking. After early tree peony flourishes, the season has shown to be inferior to last year's display (with exceptions).
Lemon Chiffon was an exception. Much better bloom this year (of course, it is relatively early).
Bartzella has never looked better. It really glowed in the garden. This bloom is from Anderson's stock. I also have a TC bush. Difficult to compare the two since they are in different locations. The original stock had much larger blooms.
Morning Lilac actually had one bloom.
White Cap always attracts attention, especially from those thieves who think they are entitled.
Old Faithful lived up to its name.
The old Walter Faxon can be quite attractive. Hollingsworth gives such frank descriptions of the pros and cons of plants, including garden display. This one can be a challenge to stake.
Cora Stubbs is showy. Needs dividing now, I think.
President Lincoln looked good this year.
Jean Ericksen is a very nice border plant. Forgive the larkspur, but they grew so well this year that I did not thin much. Will be pulled later
Didn't get a good picture of Orange Lace. Rains did a lot of damage, especially when followed by a hot day.
Felix Crousse still is popular among viewers, evident from the toll by thieves.
Touch of Class is difficult to photograph.
Mother's Choice had some nice blooms. I don't know why it is described as having strong stems, though.
Flame in the cemetery across the street. Last year it lasted longer. I ordered it last year, but was sent the wrong plant. A too frequent occurrence in the peony world.
