I think it comes down to your growing conditions. If warm but humid, I would just mist a couple of days a week. If you are up here in Ohio during the winter time where the air gets quite dry, then I would suggest misting daily and a dunk in water weekly - I soak mine for about 10 minutes - but sometimes just rinse them under running water. My Xerographica, which is bigger and has wider leaves, I soak longer. But yours is small, so I would just do a rinse or quick soak once a week if the air happens to be dry. But brown tips indicate a need for more moisture. On the flip side, a brown center could be too much water and can be deadly. So therefore, I would mist daily, maybe dunk or soak weekly depending on the humidity of your room (parts of Texas can be quite dry), and then dry it out upside down on a paper towel to let any water run out of the center. Also, I do use tap water, but I age it overnight to let the chlorine dissipate - if it's raining and not too cold, I just set them outside in the rain. Keep in a ventilated place if possible, and check it frequently, and then take your clues from the plant itself.
