I totally agree with Zoia - Just Plum Happy is a delight to have in the gardens!

It doesn't fade out in the afternoon sun, and (clearly) it's Just Plum Happy to be here. Whistling

Zone 3 winters don't faze it one bit, I have had it in the gardens for at least ten years and it puts out reliable clusters of blooms every summer. For me, it's mid to late season, but once it starts to flower, it goes for weeks of beautiful blooms... right to the end of August (some years, into early September).

The substance is good, never any water-spotting...I almost hate to say it, but this is a daylily I sometimes take for granted... healthy, check... blooms, check... looks good, check. (Sometimes, with a daylily you don't need to fuss over, you just 'expect' it to do well and just keep doing what it's doing.) And it's just so constant, I walk right by it and often forget to take (another) picture of it... But it's such a lovely colour and such a solid performer, I rely on it carry its weight, justify its spot in the garden, and perform with dependable perfection.

Yes. It is one of the shorter daylilies here ... but I have it planted at the edge of a border, alongside one of my paths, and I walk by it at least a hundred times a week. I love seeing these flowers day, after day, after day...!

Late season, after a few frosts... the foliage is starting to go brown, but the last few blooms still give me colour. In fact, once the intesity of summer heat is gone, the colours tend to brighten a bit.

There are daylilies that, at some point, I may have to dig up to make room for something else. Just Plum Happy will not be one of them.
Life is what happens while you are making other plans.
