Katie...you might try the sites on Cubits...there are some good tutorials offered.
BASICALLY: have you rooted philodendrons? KInda/sorta the same method. Both are Epiphytes...like to grow in pots like they grow in the wild....with air around their roots in light chunky soil....Hoyas are not hard to grow...we just expect more from them than they can offer...
