The easiest orchids to begin with just happen to be the ones readily available! Phalaenopsis being number one!!

Just go through the Orchid Forums here and read the one about "Growing Supermarket Orchids-Phalaenopsis". It is full of great information.
Look through threads that I have started. You will find one about repotting a Phalaenopsis. That one is very helpful.
Phalaenopsis do not need any sun, just a bright spot. Regular watering is needed, 65-80 degrees, regular potting, healthy roots and fertilizer 2-3 times a year.
Orchid lecturer, teacher and judge. Retired Wildlife Biologist. Supervisor of a nature preserve up until I retired.
