In all fairness, there are tree aloes which do okay for quite a while in containers, but those would be the single stemmed tree aloes (africana, ferox, marlothii, etc.) and their relatives in Aloe, not the members of Aloidendron, which are generally branchier (to one degree or another) and more conventionally tree-like.
