Brad: Thank you So Much for sharing the green irises. I love that Ghio. I am sure it will find it's way into my yard
But I have to say this and these are not just words: Your Iris is the prettiest seedling I have possibly seen. It has so many hints of so many colors: pink, green, blue, orange. It is such a beautiful pastel. And then it has beautiful abundant lace. Can we put down deposits for when you introduce it or better yet, bribe you to introduce it
When are you planning to introduce it? I really hope you toot your own horn loudly out here and let us know where you are introducing it.
So also, I went off on a research tangent when you mentioned Ghio's My Beloved and I looked at a pic of it. I had not seen the green on My Beloved before in pics. I went off researching cause below is one of my 2018 crosses (Beauty Within X Butterfly Affair) and I right away saw resemblance. This cross has really great green blush up Standards and good olive shoulders. It has substance
and great Diamond Dusting. Now I have only seen it bloom one year but it was a heavy bloomer. I will see how it does this year but so far I am interested in maybe, this being my first Intro, some day. Anyway, back to the resemblance I saw with My Beloved. I found the missing link: Beauty Within has My Beloved as a parent.
And while I was basking this spring in how green my cross turned out to be...Another one not too far away bloomed for me that was loaded with green (well compared to what I have seen previously), That Iris is Frosted Julep. It's underside is very green. When I looked at the bloom, I saw light green and not white, which in my mind, makes it green. I crossed it and have seeds from it but I don't know if they are viable yet. I hope to find out this Spring. I crossed it however with Rusty Ripples and the more I think of it, I should have crossed it with my "Hope to Someday be an Intro". Here are some Frosted Julep pics:
