Agaves in the Snow
This is the New Mexico Agave (Agave parryi subsp. neomexicana), It is a New Mexico native that grows wild on our property high in the hills at 6500 ft elevation. It grows in very rocky soil. It sulks when it's transplanted into better soil. Every year there are many new pups surrounding the mother plants in the wild. The ones I've transplanted are living, but not thriving or pupping.
