It's not bizarre, just ridiculous.
I could care less about what the Brits or Canadians might do or ban. It does seem to have the potential to be toxic in certain situations but using it to control insects, bacterial and fungal problems with my orchids does in no way give me pause for concern.
I am using, and recommend that it be used at a rate of one teaspoon per gallon. Since there are 768 teaspoons in a gallon, that is a very small concentration.
Plus I am in no way sucking on the spray nozzle, using it on my cereal or making a salad out of my orchids, so you would be hard pressed to convince me that there is any harm there.
I doubt that any people anywhere in any country are using Neem as a salad dressing.
As I have posted here in these forums, in the last 43 years, I HAVE NOT USED ANY INSECTICIDES INSIDE OR OUT!!! Yet people posting here use Malathion, Orthene and others as we try to combat the creepy crawlers and winged marauders!! Not me, no way, never. It is all about personal preference.
70% Isopropyl alcohol diluted to 50% is something I use occasionally to combat a serious attack of mealybugs or aphids. I use it inside and out.
So if some countries want to ban Neem, that is their right of course. But I will remain unfazed by my use of Neem.
I mean come on, 768:1!!
