Not always but sometimes you can get around a paywall by highlighting and copying the address link then go to the 3 little dots on the upper right hand corner of the screen and click on "New Incognito Window" then paste the address link and hit enter. When the paywall window comes up again you can click in the x and often it will go away. This is on a Windows computer, I am not sure if Apple works the same way.
