Are they beans or peas?my peas are long gone.

Just a note from the past. In the south of my youth there were two kinds of peas Vigna which includes cowpeas and Yardlongs and Pisum which includes Engish peas, snow peas, snap peas. Field peas were small viney Vignas like Iron and clay, mostly grown for a quick crop of emergency hay. Pisum ( Canada field peas, a small smooth hard yellow pea) was also grown for hay and soil improvement. Growth habits are incompatible, Vigna likes it hot, Pisum likes it cool and damp.
