True. A sawsall would be another good direction if he does more handy work than pruning work. I did not know they came in tiny sizes. The one we have would not be appropriate for apartment living!

*shrug* he asked for saw recommendations, I recommended a good saw. I have not been impressed with the performance of other handsaws I've used, and if for some reason I needed to make it through a 2x4 without power tools one day, I would absolutely pull out my pruning saw before I pulled out a standard handsaw. The blade is soooo good. Lovey dubby
