Peonies are a garden favorite here, and Primevere is one of the best and loveliest depending on one's tastes. It is a robust grower with high bud count. The plant easily reaches 40 inches on strong stems. The colors open with pristine white outer petals; and the centers are a light canary yellow. Outer petals can sometimes show a faint blush of pastel pink depending on lighting.
Below are some photos illustrating its form and coloring. The first with the ant is the one I used for the banner. The second & third show buds opening & fully opened. The last were taken in early morning showing the entire plant. Lighting was inadequate for the last two; however they show plant size in relation to other garden plants.
