While standing in line at the grocery today, I looked over at the cut flower counter where a woman was making a bouquet for someone.
She had a glass vase full of these huge rose blooms the likes of which I've never seen. The shape of them was very high centered and extremely "full" , about 5" across. I got out of the line and walked over to get a closer look at them.
When I got there, she was holding a long stem rose in her hand and manipulating the petals to make it bigger and fuller. She said it's a florist's technique called "reflexing" the petals. Apparently it doesn't hurt the rose, just gives it a whole new look when you put it in a vase.
She showed me how she does it and it's actually kinda cool.
Here's a video of how to do it
