I will be planting okra Sunday or Monday, now that I have some room after harvesting onions. Okra needs to be picked right (young and tender) and cooked right. Start with 6 strips of bacon (any recipe that starts with bacon had got to be good). I dice first then cook. After browned add a cup of diced onions, saute and then add 3 cups of sliced okra. Cook until tender. Add 3 cups of diced tomatoes cook 5 or 6 additional minutes. Eat as a side dish or over rice.
