The chances are good that your plants did not need to be repotted at all. Unnecessary repotting, regardless of the potting soil used, can cause lots of unintended problems.

In general, for indoor plants, you should use only soilless, peat-based potting mixes. You can also easily make your own my mixing peat moss with perlite and vary the proportions with more perlite for succulents and less for your Peace Lily.
