I used to make this hard sauce to go with Christmas pudding when the kids were home, haven't made it in years. Someone mentioned hard sauce on another site, so I posted the recipe there, and thought you may like it as well, so give it a try, it is super delicious.
Hard Sauce
1/2 cup of butter
1 1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of heavy cream
1 tsp of real vanilla
Cream butter until fluffy; gradually add brown sugar, beating thoroughly.
Add heavy cream and vanilla slowly, beating constantly.
Pile into sauce dish and chill well before serving.
