If you look below your landscape photos on the final (public) page, you will see a link below the image to "Start a new thread to comment about this photo". I think that's the best place to comment on or caption your photo.
And I would encourage those of us who enjoy learning the names of plants in landscape pictures to leave a thumbs up when we see someone put in the effort to label a landscape picture, by commenting or by drawing boxes. I personally do not leave one for any picture that is not labeled, one way or another.
My memory is a little hazy but I think last time this subject came up, a couple of people were pretty vociferous about how they enjoy submitting and viewing unlabeled landscape pictures and would view it as a loss if they were unable to submit pictures without somehow identifying the plants in them. It seemed to me like the overall conclusion was that it's better to embrace everyone's different ways of doing things, rather than insist this area be productive for and searchable through the database.
