Well it's humble pie time, I've gone through all my RHS Harlow Carr photos of this plant and have found one from its July blooming time and yes, it does look more like MissMew's photo.
I do apologise for doubting.
Next year I'm sure we'll all be out photographing flowering Karl Foerster!
