There are types of mites that cause extreme itchy bumps, very similar to chiggers. Scabies is one such mite, but there are several types. They can be spread by mulch, hay, leaves raking in the fall, or contact w pets, ect. I do get these off and on, (I think from either my compost or the neighbor's cats) and the best remedy for them is head lice shampoo, just rub it on like a lotion and leave it there. Do it as soon as you START to itch. Of course you can't use this on large areas of your body, probably see a dr for that. They can cover large areas if you get badly infected, your entire belly, thighs or back ect.
