Yes, there is. Salvia are rather promiscuous (Wendys Wish being a very popular plants that occured naturally in the garden of an Australian Salvia collector) and as such there can be cross pollination or reversion in Salvia seed. The Chinese Salvia are especially likely to cross pollinate.
