Bush Goliath: This was the first year that I've grown this variety and I really liked it -- very sturdy and bushy plants that got to around 4 feet tall inside my hoop house; early slicer with decent flavor and produced a lot of tomatoes for the size of the plant.
Paul Robeson: Grew well for me (inside the high-tunnel greenhouse) and produced quite a few tomatoes that had good flavor when fully ripe; I like their appearance, but the skin was quite tough.
Juliet: A small-fruited type that I've grown for years, very reliable for producing a lot of tomatoes that have good flavor and are small enough to be great for snacking and yet large and meaty enough that I've used them for making roasted tomato sauce when we had too many to keep up with for fresh eating.
Viva Italia: This has been a must-grow for me for quite a few years; very productive of plum-shape tomatoes that are great for making salsa, sauce, etc. and also juicy and flavorful enough for fresh eating. Unfortunately, it may have been discontinued - not too many sources seem to be carrying it now.
Hope that helps -- flavor in particular is such a subjective thing, and my growing conditions are obviously much different than in Texas, so, as they say, "YMMV." (your mileage may vary)
