There is also such a thing as summer SAD, where too much sun gets you down. It's rare, but I think it might have a touch of that. By August, a cloudy day would be so nice. I grew up in one of the cloudiest climates in the U.S. I can't say that the cloudiness ever bothered me, but I did get tired of the rain. Now I have learned to appreciate rain.

We went hiking yesterday. There were some bad muddy spots were the mud would try to suck off your shoes. We went to a pond. We have been going there for years. About two years ago it went dry for the first time that I have ever seen. It is a few acres in size and with an educated guess, I'd say it is six to eight feet deep. Now it is filled to capacity. We could hear the water spilling out of the other end.
