Secure storage of your photo's (and other precious files).
I use two methods: first a copy is on a second, external, harddisk using SyncBackFree as I do not like the windows back-up program. In SyncBackFree I can f.e. also choose to delete photo's from my back-up as the original has been deleted on purpose. That prevents the back-up to become cluttered with old rubbish. This works for most of my own mistakes. However that does not secure against theft or fire.
So secondly I use a paid service (not some cloud thing) which stores any changes every day on their disks (on the background as soon as I am connected to internet). These disks are not in public view like flickr or likewise. It costs me a little but I sleep better. I use Backblaze but there may be better/cheaper/others these days. I started this years ago and never bothered to look for another solution. Of course I know Google has some kind of "free' solution these days, but they take control of my pics: NO way.
On Flickr and such I only upload small versions of my photo's. If I honour a request to use my pics in any publication they can get the high resolution. This does not completely stop abuse on Ebay and such but it stops the worst.
