I'm glad that you enjoyed it, Magga.

Every day seems to bring a new wonder to light; it's an ever-evolving, half wild type of place. I found a patch of Sweet Sultan (Centaurea moschata) seedlings growing in the spot under the chair that I sat in while bagging seeds last fall. I'm contemplating what I'll do with them. I should probably just transplant a few to another spot, but maybe I'll just leave them there and see what happens. Smiling It's a pretty tight bunch, who knows, it might turn into a really pretty display.

Celle, I have a patch of land up here in cold Iceland. I have been planting tree seedlings there since 2000. The earth was barren and windy with no trees, only some straws and moss. Most of my first plantings did not survive, mostly because of dry and cold spring winds. But as the years pass there has been some change and it seems more fertile now. I have continued to plant every year, and have also added some perennial flowers.

People, even in my family, said I was crazy thinking I could grow trees in that place, but now even they are starting to grow their own trees. I have always visualized this place as a woodland garden. Although things grow very slowly here I am seeing change and beauty and things are starting to look something like what I saw in my mind.

Seeing what you have done is very inspiring to say the least. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us Lovey dubby Lovey dubby .

Wonderful!

Even just a few trees are very beneficial, aren't they? IMHO each one helps the next to survive, and eventually a woodland forms. Hurray!
