Thank you my friends for all the thumbs & nice comments (and the acorn,
@Fleur569).
This is a wonderful plant......no disease or pests. ~3ft x 3ft.
They look more like a tree fern than a geranium until they bloom in the 2nd year.
They may need some support as they mature. The lower leaves help prop it up,
but I lost one as it fell over by it's own weight. The mature stem is ~1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) thick!
It's a bit tenuous as a seedling.....very scrawny, and weak stemmed. But just watch over it, give it some water, and
be patient (it's biennial) .....it will reward you with sooooooo many blooms! 100 (at least) en masse.
Just one is impressive.
It's not invasive in spite of the many blooms......just a few germinate and find
their niche. If they aren't in the right spot, they're easy to transplant when young, but
not later as they have a long tap root. They do not grow from cuttings, and die after blooming.
But I leave it in place for a few weeks to make sure it re-seeds, and so far, it has not disappointed.
