I have seen spots on the marigolds I grow from seeds. but it never seems to affect their overall growth or flowering. Marigolds are tough plants.

I have the same spots on my Durango Marigold leaves which I am growing hydroponically in an AeroGarden. My plant has only been growing for 3 weeks.

Not every purple spot or weird marking has to be a disease!

Anything that is purple I think is from anthocyanin pigments.
I start marigolds under lights and I have the orange and red guys and ones that are supposed to be pure yellow. They both develop purple spots. But there are far more on the colored marigold variety. Maybe one tenth as many but they are there. Could just be "par for the course"!
