Are those Kales and how big are they that they dwarf the surrounding shrubs and compete with the scale of the tree trunk?

These were smooth leaf cabbages very large indeed. I would guess no less than 30"+ across. Lots of good fertilizer, I'm sure, and very striking even from a distance.

Thanks for the info. Wish I had some ground to work with. Those cabbages are most ornamental aside from being a great vegetable.
