Good idea to eat the pole beans raw, I've not tried that before. I'm also going to have to figure out what to do with the yardlong beans because they're starting to get big too now. I tried four different varieties of beans this year, but they all produce at the same time which makes for a whole lot of beans. I tried freezing them before and wasn't happy with the resulting texture. None of us like canned beans either.

I cut back on bean growing this year and only grew yard longs that I thought were pole beans but they were bush. Disappointing harvest. So there's next year...
Love them fresh, you can add the to many things for a nice fresh crunch factor. Just the other day I added some to our fish tacos. Also nice to add to veggie tray for dipping or fried like French fries. My hubby loves good ol' green bean casserole with mushrooms and onions. And a little cream of course. Yum, I'm hungry for green beans.

I really liked those too. It's a striking color combo. I wasn't sure if they would come true from the seed I collected or not. Maybe it helped that I didn't grow any other 4 o clocks that year.

Leslie, seeds are so diverse that it's almost impossible to tell just one way of doing it. I would google the type of plant you are interested in. eg--"harvesting hollyhock seeds"
@luvsgrtdanes check these out, ipomoea nil blue spoke and celosia Argentina 'fresh look'. The deer bit off some of the later.
Does it take awhile for the Brazilian Morning Glory to bloom? It is the longest, furriest the vine I have ever seen sprawling on fishing line the length of my garage! The Wild Lupine is huge and the Morello Cherry one is healthy, too. Looking forward to spring to see them bloom!
@duane456 for having a contest to win seeds. These beauties are true winners! Lady in Red salvia captured the attention of my hummingbirds and first place at the fair. Black prince snapdragon took first place as well. I love it's deep burgundy shade. Salvia Yvonne grew quite tall!
The pics posted in reverse order! again!
@luvsgrtdanes, forgot to show this one, too. It bloomed pink. I enjoy them all so much and am so grateful to everyone!
I had to be patient with this Torenia.it took a long time to germinate and then grow. @Lalambchop1 I forgot to show you how the king Theodore dwarf Nasturtium came out!
MrsBinWY said:@Samlav I sure enjoyed the Allium aflatunense 'Purple Sensation' you sent The seeds they set look like they should be viable, and I couldn't resist sowing them. Maybe a few years from now I'll see some pretty seedlings.
We've had some warmer weather the last few days, and today I got a chance to look at the wintersown containers that have been out on the patio. I think the verdict is the seeds definitely were viable! Many thanks again to @Samlav for the 'Purple Sensation' Allium bulbs Wonder what their children will look like...?
How exciting to see this emergence! Thanks for sharing.
I got started winter sowing late this year, after a late seed swap. My first pop-ups were hollyhocks. Spring is the season of surprises unfolding! I love ❤️ it!
