I can almost smell them! We used to have nearly everything citrus, but rented our place out for years and no one watered them. all gone except for some key limes I put in pots recently. They are doing well.
@vic, @bootandall, @springcolor for the @plantmanager Sorry to hear about your citrus. My brother planted a grapefruit, a Meyer lemon and an orange, and fortunately he put in a watering system and we have been reaping (pun intended) the rewards.

When I was married, my husband and I used to get a USPS box of just lemons from AZ. No note. It was from my husband's mother's lemon tree. I thought it was the funniest thing. When we went to visit. I saw the tree and I was astonished it has thorns. My husband's mother always had a bowl of those lemons on a table in the house while there was fruit available. Well, I made lemonade from them.

Its easy for me to believe in miracles when science can't explain why a blade of grass has its shape and that is just one plant and one attribute.
@Lioba for the The Meyer lemons are quite large and usually produce a half cup of juice. I freeze the juice and sometimes when I feel like baking I make a lemon meringue pie totally from scratch.
