I don't know, Leslie. There's so much foliage I can't get through
I just checked my list, It's either Adriatic Waves, Sea Power or possibly Merchant Marine. All in the same part of the same bed.
I'll do some research later.

Back again. I was rewarded with some late blooms! (It's so hard to work in the studio when the weather is this beautiful!) And Marilyn, Chris enjoyed meeting you at the art show! Thanks!

So, one of the things I'm noticing now are the qualities that some of the award--winners have. Paul Black by Tom Johnson isn't just another purple. There was early sunlight behind it, but the camera didn't catch all of the glowing color..

Speaking of Paul Black, a member brought a stalk to our club meeting the other night. It was fabulous, and I told myself that I need to get it. (Coincidentally, I was putting in a late order with Blue J Iris, trying to nail down this 'Pinkity' ID issue, and saw that they had it... but they were sold out. I guess I know why!)

IThat's Dragon King. Although the camera has made it look more pink than it is.

I noticed that my golden seedling has 2 more buds ready to open. That will be a total of five blooms for its first time out. Its 6 siblings have not produced a stalk, however, but all have produced increases. Sometimes I feel like I've gotten in over my head! I'm still struggling with the terminology! I know what I'll be doing next winter!

Well, you have a great seedling - that's a very good start!!

I'd like to visit Denmark some day - and Sweden also.My maternal grandmother was born there.
In the series I'm watching, one of the Danes describes his country as having very sandy soil. Do you find this to be true? How does this affect your gardening?

The Western part of Denmark does have a lot of sandy soil, most of the rest does not. I'm in the East and have clay based soil. So for iris growing, I'm in the wrong part of the country!

Irises are very adaptable!
