Broken Pots, Little Plants, and Some Imagination

By SarasotaPatty

I have a pile of broken pots that I can't bear to throw away, a plastic container full of garden "miniatures" that I started collecting a long time ago, and lots of "baby" and small plants filling my shelves.Today I stirred in some creativity and it all came together!

Patty, you've created some very pretty decorative pieces (literally!) Those terraces really take the fairy garden idea to the next level. Now I want to break some pots to do something like this, lol!

Thank You! Thank you both...I had fun with them, and because I save everything, I didn't have to purposely break anything!

Thank you Ibis & Lin!

I do craft shows with the beaded hangers on orchid baskets I make, as well as witch balls in garden stakes or with beaded hangers as well...and I did try to sell some of the little houses I made. I did okay. I brought the gardens with me as an example of what to do with the houses and while I did sell quite a few (I made about 30 of them, each different) and I got a LOT of compliments, I also heard "I can make that!" a LOT as well. People are funny sometimes.

One lady offered me $60 for the terra cotta one...I told her to call me when the 3 week festival was over...she didn't. Shrug!

Uh, yeah, "I can make that" until you realize how much work actually went into it! Blinking

I saw some of your beaded hangers awhile back when you posted a few pictures, but I'd love to see some more. Seems like a great way to dress up a plain orchid basket. Do you have a website? You should also post what craft shows you'll be at, and when. I'm in Orlando, hint, hint Big Grin

Awwww, thank you Gee! I appreciate it very much!

Ibis...the next how I am doing is the Sarasota Orchid Society show at the Sarasota auditorium in January...I haven't booked any shows from now to the end of the year because I have a boatload of health issues suddenly pop-up and I want to get them all taken care of before the end of the year. I have 7 doctor appointments in the next couple of weeks!

Anyway, I do not have a website...yet...but this is what my set-up looked like at the Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival for 3 weeks. If you want a particular size, shape, color or whatever orchid basket I'd be happy to custom make one for you if I don't already have one made that you like...

Here are some of the baskets...(the first one was at our Society show this past January)

And I just got in an order of bamboo baskets--they're kind of interesting as they are made out of lengths of small bamboo instead of the cut wood...I haven't beaded any yet. I got them in 4, 8 & 10 inch. They cost me a little more than the wood, but only by a couple of bucks on the bigger ones.

And thank YOU for the acorns as well!!

Patty I love the fairy gardens!!! I have an outdoor one but I really like your creative ideas. I may have to see if I can use your inspiration with the broken pots in my outdoor fairy garden. Anyway - you're quite crafty and they look great! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.
